On Thursday, December 13, 2018, the Bay Democrats club, 45th A.D. District Leaders Margarita Kagan & Ari Kagan hosted a wonderful Fifth Annual Awards Dinner in a beautiful National Restaurant on Brighton Beach Avenue. The 45th Assembly District includes all or parts of the following communities: Brighton Beach, Manhattan Beach, Sheepshead Bay, Homecrest, Midwood, Gravesend and Marlboro.
This tragedy shocked America. 11 Jews were killed by virulent anti-Semite in the Tree of Life conservative synagogue in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. 6 more people were wounded, including brave police officers who risked their lives to save congregants. Terrorist burst into a synagogue shouting “All Jews must die!” and opened fire.
The Bay Democrats club had a very successful meeting on October 10, 2018 - with packed room, many elected officials and community leaders from all over the Southern Brooklyn. Club celebrated the big re-election victory of District Leader Margarita Kagan who received 69% of total number of votes on September 13 Primary and won in every neighborhood of the diverse 45th District.

District Leader Ari Kagan participated in a great induction ceremony for a first Russian-born elected Civil Court Judge Elena Baron. She was elected by Brooklyn voters in the 6th District that includes diverse neighborhoods of East Flatbush, Crown Heights, Midwood, Kensington, Park Slope.

Sheepshead Bay Rd. was once a beautiful, busy, and thriving area. In the last six years, it became a symbol of empty storefronts, piles of garbage, abandoned street shelter for homeless people, and economic decline. It suffered badly from the devastating effects of economic recession, SuperStorm Sandy, overdevelopment and neglect.
For the last two years, the Bay Democrats, the strong and diverse Democratic Club in 45th AD, has worked hard to improve quality of life for local residents, to support credible Democratic candidates for various political positions and to unite Democrats from many communities in the District.
Many elected officials and community leaders organized on Sunday, November 22, 2015 the press conference near the site of the garbage transfer station construction at Bay 41 Street and Shore Parkway. They united in their fierce opposition to this dangerous construction that destroys our waters, air, soil and health.
