Depression. Dr. Sergey Kalitenko: "Every patient is unique"


Depression is one of the most common mental disorders in the United States. According to the Anxiety and Depression Association of America (ADAA), in 2014, around 15.7 million adults age 18 or older in the U.S. had experienced at least one major depressive episode in the last year, which represented 6.7 percent of all American adults. But unfortunately, the most common treatment of Depression is to simply prescribe various pills, especially antidepressants.

Dr. Sergey Kalitenko, who has more than 30 years of professional experience, believes that Depression is a treatable disease, but doctors and patients should be looking at many factors before deciding what is a best option for a treatment in each specific case.
